Winter can be a real motivation killer. The snow, the cold and the lack of sun: they just know how to get under our skin and ruin our mood for anything and everything.
Yet, winter is the season in which we have to make extra effort to stay in good shape as we naturally limit our physical activities and crave for more carbs, and fats due to the cold. So here are few easy tips to help you stay on track this winter:
Workout/do yoga at home
Yoga, HIIT, CrossFit: you don’t need a gym or any special equipment to do them. So they are a great winter option for those of you who don’t want to leave the warmth of their own home to do a great workout.

Find yourself a workout/yoga buddy
Find a good friend, make a training plan and train together at least once a week. Doing your routine with someone else is a great way to keep your motivation and stamina on track, and stick to your training schedule.
Plan and prepare your meals in advance
Planning and preparing your meals for the week in advance is essential for your happy, healthy and lean body. This is especially important in winter when we naturally crave for more unhealthy foods on the go. Preparing your meals will help you to fuel your body with real food and will keep you away from the naughty snacks.
Keep your connection with nature
Although it is winter, try to stay connected with nature and don’t deprive yourself of outdoors activities. Get warm winter clothing and enjoy a brief hike, a walk in the park, or a morning run. Moreover, winter is the season of skiing and snowboarding. So if you are a fan of these sports try to do them as often as possible.
Drink plenty of water
Drinking plenty of water is important in every season. It keeps your metabolism and digestion on track, and also helps you to have healthy skin, teeth, bones, joints and liver. Those guilt and sugar-packed caramel macchiatos and mulled wines won’t keep you lean and healthy this winter. Water will. So drink your litre and a half (minimum) per day and replenish your body with a good source of hydration. Don’t forget to start your day with some hot water with freshly squeezed lemon (NOT a great option for people with sensitive teeth) and to follow 2 Health’s Morning Routine (read more about the magical results of our Morning Routine here)
