Yoga always gives us the right tools. The tools to become a better version of ourselves. The tools to clean our body, mind and soul. And even the tools to get our baby to sleep. Yes, as parents we have all been there: dark room, 3 a.m.; our baby - crying restlessly; us - being exhausted and ready to cry too. This is when we desperately need a miracle! And this is when yoga music comes in handy and creates miracles. In this article we are sharing our top 5 yoga tunes that will make your baby sleep in no time. We've tried them all: they really work!!!
1. Shanti (Peace Out), MC YOGI
This song is pure magic. It can calm a restlessly crying baby in just a few seconds. There is something about the mixture between the soft flute, the gentle om chanting and the exotic female vocals that simply enchants the babies and brings them a blissful peace. You can find the full-length version of the song on iTunes.
2. I am Bountiful, Blissful, Beautiful, GODDESS LOVE
In addition to being a wonderful, calming tune, I am Bountiful, Blissful, Beautiful can also serve as yours and your baby's daily affirmation. You could even create a small ritual: play this song while holding your baby and start singing along. The art of the spoken word is critical in crafting our present and our future, and repeating an affirmation is a way of feeding the subconscious a positive suggestion to enhance wellbeing. So give it a try!
3. RaMaDaSa (Love Vibration), SNATAM KAUR
The Ra Ma Da Sa mantra is one of the most powerful and soothing mantras in Kundalini Yoga that aims to help us balance the body, mind and spirit. It calls upon the energy of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit to bring deep healing.
The complete mantra is ‘Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung’. If we were to translate it from Gurmukhi (one of three scripts used for the Punjabi language) it would sound like this:
Ra - Sun
Ma - Moon
Daa - Earth
Saa - Impersonal Infinity
Saa Say - Totality of Infinity
So - Personal sense of merger and identity
Hung - The infinite, vibrating and real
This mantra can be chanted to heal the self or to send healing energy to anyone you wish, in this case to your baby for instance. So try chanting along with this tune for an even more powerful effect.
4. Chanting OM, MUSIC FOR DEEP MEDITATION
'Om' is an ancient and sacred sound, the vibration of the universe. It is also a powerful mantra that heals and empowers people from all ages. Babies and children respond to Om on a deep level as it mimics a sound they experience in the womb. Hearing Om slows down their nervous system and helps them relax, much like meditation. That is why the tune we are suggesting works every time!
What's more, the sound and vibration of Om creates harmony and unity between the person voicing the sound and the receiver. So go ahead and chant along to reach a deeper connection with you baby.
5. I am the light of my soul, SIRGUN KAUR & SAT DARSHAN SINGH
This beautiful mantra-like song is a great bedtime-lullaby to try! It will work even better if you start playing/singing it to your baby regularly a little bit in advance: when in uterus. Start doing this from week 24 onwards as this is when fetuses’ active listening initiates.
