WHY YOU SHOULD EAT MORE WATERLEMON THIS SUMMER (plus recipes).

August 17, 2016

It’s the watermelon season. A juicy, delicious, half-green half-red season.

Now, we all know how refreshing and sweet that fruit is.  But did you all know that watermelons are believed to have originated in Africa several thousand years ago and to have traveled over time to Asia and the Middle East (approx. 900-1,000 A.D.), Europe (approx. 1300–1400 A.D.) and North America (came with the European colonization). Apart from its excellent taste and refreshing qualities, here are a few more reasons why you should start eating more watermelon this summer:

  1. It soothes sore muscles.

  2. It helps heart health.

  3. It’s a natural Viagra.

  4. It's rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants, but low in calories.

  5. It is a strong prostate cancer aide.

  6. It makes your skin and hair glow

We, at 2 Health App, adore all types of fruit. Yet, watermelon has that special something that makes us get even more creative and develop special recipes. Here are some of 2 Health’s quick refreshing summer suggestions:
